Beware of Fluoride in Your Toothpaste

Did you know that some brands of toothpastes have harmful toxins which may be the cause for cancer or blindness? The harmful ingredients in mouthwashes and toothpastes are made up of very small molecules which can easily pass through your mouth tissue to enter into your blood streams. In this way they can get accumulated in several organs of the body, like the liver, kidneys, heart, lung and tissues.

It is common practice for manufacturers to put warning labels on toothpastes as well as mouthwashes. This is compulsory because the toothpastes are filled with dangerous toxins and chemicals. Some of them are sodium fluoride, triclosan, blue dyes and silica, and all of them can be harmful for human beings.

We are all aware that fluoride is the most common ingredient in every toothpaste and mouthwash, because dentists have recommended it against cavities. But it has been proved that some toothpastes have so much fluoride in four ounces, that it is enough to kill a small child. In any case sodium fluoride can cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. And if it is consumed in large doses, it may lead to paralysis and respiratory problems.

Dyes may also cause allergic reactions, and if you have children, be extremely careful about buying colored toothpaste. Children love using their striped and colored gel toothpaste on their electric toothbrush, but the dyes used should be from natural products and not chemical. There are definitely safer and healthier toothpastes which you should buy, so look out for a good brand name as you cannot afford to take a risk with oral hygiene products.

The risk is naturally greater for children, because they may not be able to spit out all the toothpaste and tend to swallow it often, especially if it is flavored. Once the chemicals and toxins enter the body system, it may cause damage anywhere. Shop carefully for toothpaste and mouthwash, and read the ingredients which the products contain and then bring it home to be used for your family.
